eCampus with a new look: optimisations following the ILIAS 8 upgrade

What is new in eCampus (ILIAS version 8)?
With the upgrade to ILIAS 8, our learning platform, eCampus, appears in a brighter, more modern design. The previously dominant grey background colours have been replaced by a brighter and fresher look that is consistent throughout the entire system.

In addition to the new look, functions have been optimised and expanded to create an even better learning and working environment. The content area remains unchanged so that you can work with your materials and courses as usual. We have summarised the most important changes and innovations for you below.

New functions for eCampus Video

Upload of preview images

With the update to ILIAS 8, it is now possible to upload preview images when uploading video files. You can either upload your own images or select a still image from the video. The image formats jpeg and png are supported.

OCR function

In the future, users will be able to search lecture recordings for keywords. This is made possible by OCR (Optical Character Recognition). Videos with OCR make it much easier for users to navigate when viewing a longer video sequence.

New eCampus video editor

The new eCampus video editor based on Opencast shines in a new, modern design and simplifies operation with further improvements. You can find the instructions for the new editor here.
